Hello and welcome to my digital portfolio!

I'm Shannea Minell Santiago, a Strategic Communication graduate from Pacific Union College, where I graduated cum laude and earned a certificate in Conflict Resolution.

I've always been interested in how people, brands, and organizations connect through communication. Whether it's developing a campaign, planning an event, creating content, or simply brainstorming ideas, I love figuring out how to bring everything together and turn an idea into something meaningful.

My interests are mainly in public relations, corporate and brand communications, crisis communication, advertising, and marketing, especially when strategy and creativity come together. I've always been more drawn to the planning and strategy behind a project, like understanding an audience, figuring out the right messaging, developing ideas, and coordinating all the moving pieces. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the creative side too! But I've learned that I really thrive when I get to be involved in the bigger picture and the process of bringing everything to life.

Throughout college, I got to explore these interests through campaign planning, campus marketing, digital media, event coordination, and student leadership. I also had the opportunity to serve as President of both the Communication Club and Lambda Pi Eta, where I helped organize activities, promote initiatives, and create opportunities for students to connect. These experiences taught me a lot about leadership, collaboration, and how much I enjoy working with people to make things happen.

Since graduating, I've gained experience in higher education enrollment services and healthcare administration. While these weren't exactly the fields I originally imagined myself working in, they've helped me grow professionally and strengthen my skills in communication, customer service, administrative operations, and coordination. They've also helped me figure out what I enjoy most and where my strengths really are.

I'm especially interested in industries like tech, gaming, beauty, entertainment, and healthcare. I love how each of these industries has its own audience, personality, and way of communicating. Long term, I'd love to grow into a role where I can combine strategic communications, PR, marketing, and project coordination, whether that's helping that's helping plan campaigns, developing brand messaging, coordinating events, or working behind the scenes to bring projects together.

Outside of work, I love traveling, gaming, attending concerts and raves, creating little vlogs, and spending time with my family and dogs. I also enjoy taking on random creative projects, whether that's designing something, putting together thoughtful gifts, or just finding new ways to capture everyday moments. I think a lot of my creativity comes from simply enjoying the little details and experiences that make things memorable.

As I continue growing professionally, I'm excited to keep learning, meeting new people, exploring different opportunities, and building on the skills I've developed so far. I don't have every step of my career figured out just yet, but I know I want to do work that allows me to think creatively, plan strategically, collaborate with others, and contribute to something meaningful.
